AQUAMAG ® effectively neutralizes acidic, industrial waste in a variety of different applications. As a weak base, AQUAMAG ® is a non-hazardous, environmentally-friendly alkali that can prove superior to its competition by: • Provides more neutralizing power per unit than either lime or caustic soda. It requires 21% more lime and 27% more caustic soda to neutralize the same amount of acid as AQUAMAG. ® • Buffers the neutralized solution to a pH that does not exceed a 9.0 – thereby preventing the formation of any high-pH hot spots that may be out of compliance. • Generates lower sludge volumes than that achieved using either lime or caustic soda. Sludges achieved subsequent to AQUAMAG ® use have: – A granular consistency that makes the sludge easier to dewater. – A higher solids concentration and density than that achieved using either lime or caustic soda. – Lower filter cycle times than that achieved using either lime or caustic soda. • Removes heavy metal ions from solution at one pH unit lower than that of caustic soda. • Produces soluble, harmless, magnesium salt by products.
